Swearing and slap fighting on the side of a highway. I feel like the camera guy bears most of the blame here, I know snapping a pic of a rare or cool car is one thing but following them for 45 minutes and driving like an asshat is a bit over the line.

On the other hand the car looks pretty sweet but the was the door glass and quarter windows are set up just looks awkward.

Plus driving while recording seems really safe.

I doubt I'd stop and come up to the car and confront the guy, but if some stranger tailed me for 45 minutes acting like that, I would be a bit worried too. However, if one chooses to drive a Lambo, I would think that that sort of attention is what they are after.
Sounds like harassment to me, That cameraman shouldnt have tailed the dude for 45 minutes
damn subie owners.... always causing a ruckus.

And he got really pissed off when I tried to explain to him the freedom of the press and E36 M3

The door glass/quater windows aren't that abmormal for Lambo, and I'm on the side of the camera vehicle at fault here. He had film of the appearance of the car within the first minute of the youtube video, so what exactly was the point to continue following them? Go for 100-200 more miles to wait for it to run out of gasoline? Chances are, if there wasn't a camera being pointed at the guy while rolling down the highway for 45+ minutes they probably would have obliged taking some close ups once stopped. Instead, we have what we see here, a complete lack of common sense leading to altercation......

As a person who could easily be in the exact same situation as the lambo driver, I would have called the police as well. If I were trailed like that for more than 20 min, I would stop at the closest gas station, and call the police.
Freedom of the press does not give a free pass to harass and/or endanger people.
Now, I would not have been the same jerk he was at that exit. But first and foremost, the video he was doing would scare the crap out of me.
And I have had people aproach me when driving a prototype. Nothing like that, thankfully.
If some weirdo tailed me for that long, the last thing I'd do is walk up to the window of said weirdo's car.

Yea, the lack of common sense is what sent this where it did. Hell, I've chatted with a few guys out rolling around in prototypes(C7 vette, '13 SHO, '11 Mustang GT, etc) Most of the guys are cool as heck so long as you're not acting stupid.
Lets be honest. The only common sense you see in this video is the drivers getting the berkeley away from this madness.

That's for sure.
The photographer is a moron- first of all, where you are- that's not exactly the hot bed of testing areas in North America, second, there's no cammo or any protection on the car. So getting a few shots and moving on is all that you really need.
The lambo driver isn't all that bright- while it's possible that you are on a development trip, based on all of the actual work trips I've been on and know of, this is not one of them. There's no real need to "protect the car" as much as there is just protect yourself. Why you have to drive like that and ask for protection vs. just going to a safe location to call for help is beyond me. Dude- that may be a prototype, but notbody is doing anything to protect it- so neither should you. If it WAS that important 1) the car would be transported in a closed truck, 2) you would be on a closed road all by yourself, 3) the car would be covered with stuff to make it look odd. none of that happened.
Still, as the guy who has drive a ton of prototypes, I would look for my personal safety first. (And I know the company I work for would back me all the way)
My take away from that video? That Subaru had a check engine light on, weird.
I wish there was some hilarious violence or crash footage in that video. Even a spontaneous Italian car fire would have been welcome.
I just wasted 2 minutes of my life and I skipped half the berkeleying thing.

The video guy is a total douche bag. Here in Ontario we don't even use cell phones while driving, let alone shoot movies while trying to operate a car.I would have taken the plate pulled over and reported him for eratic driving.

This. I'm sure the moron in the subie would cool the video-while-driving action after rear-ending a $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Lambo. Wonder how his insurance would like that, lol...
If I was driving a rare, expensive car and someone was tailing me for 45 minutes, I would assume that person is planning to jack my car or something. I'll take a photo or quick vid when I see an exotic on the road, but I mean....once you get a photo or 10 seconds of video, what exactly is the point of continuing to harass the person.
Yes the guy filming was wrong, and the guy in the A8 was just as wrong. I didn't see anything out of the Lambo drivers behavior that would make me think he did anything wrong.
If I was a cop and rolled up on that it would be simple. Reckless/Careless/distracted driving ticket for the guy with the cam. Hand cuffs and a ride in the police car for hitting the guy while sitting in his car.
Confiscation of the camera for evidence on both the driving and assault charges.
You stop being a stalker. 45 minutes is obnoxious. Filming while driving and trying to get around another car is wreckless.
You just because you work for a car company does not give you permission to attack someone for filming your companies car on a public road. Keep your hands to your self. You are not Jesus. Apparently you didn't learn that in Kindergarten.
You know, after looking at it did those look like manufacturers tags on either car? Two fat bubbas with Georgia tags in Florida driving two expensive vehicles and one being a pre-production run car seems odd.

I saw that, too. Which is really odd- the only way Florida used manufacturers plates is if they were brought INTO Florida, and stayed. Most manuf plates are here in Michigan, but the next biggest states would be New Jersey, Ohio, and California- due to the engineering facilities there.
Cars DO test in Florida, but for really specific reasons- one which Audi has access to in Germany that's as good or better than in Florida. The other one is actually in the panahandle (a cold weather facility, if you can belive it). This looked very mid florida. Again, could be a test car, but very unlikely to be a real test. They are not moving the car TO a test facility- that's what trucks are for. And the car has no disguise on it- so it's been out in public already.
Odd.
Either way, if I were the driver of the audi, I would have called the cops a long time before that.
