My father and I (cumulative age 134) are throwing some stuff into the frunk of the Cayman and driving north to Jay Peak in Vermont (right on the Canadian border) for the Porsche Club of America's annual Porsche Parade Concours on Monday.
We're not actually entering the concours, just spectating. My concours prep included new spark plugs, a new air filter, and an oil change. I checked the tire pressures (30 psi front, 37 rear) and the spare (still not there). I also cleaned the windows. I'm pretty sure that I washed the car at some point in 2015. I expect to encounter hundreds of bird sized insects on the way up there. We're staying at my sister's house in New Hampshire, and she lives about a mile up a very dusty dirt road, so cleaning it up seemed kind of pointless.
My tool kit consists of a Leatherman, a screwdriver, a tire plug kit, compressor and a credit card. Hopefully, we won't need any of that stuff.

Clean cars are overrated
Sounds like a fun trip... enjoy!
Every time I wash the car I seem to find an interesting dirt road.
My daughter and I did a 50K footrace up and down and around Jay Peak a few years ago. Well, I did one lap and stopped at 25 K. The amount of climbing was just ridiculous. Beautiful area.
If you search it out, you can find Hill Farmstead beer on tap. It is definitely worth the search. The Beer Advocate people recently voted this the best brewery in the country.
I can't imagine not cleaning my car for a trip like that. Half the fun of owning a car is cleaning it up and making it look good, the other half is driving the hell out of it and making it dirty so you can clean it again. Instant gratification on both counts.
Anyway, sounds like a great way to spend time with your dad!
That is cool.. Have a safe trip enjoy the Parade
