Typeset hard on eyes

I have a feeling it has to do with the banner ads over there than pride.

With the current tweaks the board is much easier to read. Actually, when I opened the forum tonight I actually said that to myself. I wouldn't mind more smilies though...

Oh I don't mind banner ads. It sure does seem wierd that the banner ads are the same size as the GRM logo at the top of the page. Seems to me the logo should be the top dog.

In the grand tradition of the quasimofo style, we now have a wowak style, so everything takes up every inch of the screen, and nothing falls on two lines.

To use it, in Firefox go to view/page styles/wowak

Any way to make a page style "stick" while browsing? I can make any individual page view under a given style, but when I browse, it goes back to the default.

Beats me. Neither one of those is remotely usable for regular browsing, though. Just jokes.

Okay, nerd time. Wowak, pay attention.

First, find the profile directory for your Firefox. http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Profiles#How_to_find_your_profile

Now, go into the "chrome" folder. You'll find a file called "userContent-example.css". Open it in Notepad.

Add the following to the bottom of the userContent-example.css file:

@-moz-document url-prefix(http://www.grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum), url-prefix(http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum) { #logo, #nav, .cta, #footer {display:none} #wrap, #content, #content1, #forum table {width:100% !important; background:#fff; margin:0 !important; position:static} #content {margin:0} #content * {white-space: nowrap} .postlist, .post {width:auto !important; overflow:visible !important} }

Save the file as userContent.css.

Restart Firefox.

Voila! It stick! It's set up to only mess with the forum, and the sidebar will remain for other pages. It also places the page a bit high, cutting off the top. I'll see what I can do about that.

Of course if you do this, you're on your own, and anything that does or does not work is your problem.

While I love the full width view Keith figured out, useability fell to a 1, so I'm back to normal.

And I really didn't want to eliminate the side bar, just make it a reasonable size. (like 150px wide.)
