Yeah, it's expensive, but... NMNA

I think done, built these typically trade for around $80k+. This build still has $50k worth of work (paint, body, interior, etc.) he is a bit cheeky on the price. It's also a 11 year old kit... but new these kits are $30k before the driveline.
Ooohhh! I REALLY need that for not single seat tadpole trike project!
Id even be happy with the price, but I'm about 3 months from haveing the money, and 5 months from picking it up
Any enablers want to talk? I have a few thoughts.

Stretch the 356's body 7.3" through the doors and slap it on that Subaru chassis. 90.0" - 82.7" = 7.3"
Oooh! I like that idea. I like the 818 concept a lot but the styling is uninspiring, to me at least. And 356 Speedsters are gorgeous but expensive, even replicas. Best of both worlds!
But I already have two mid-engine project cars so this one is not for me.

Speedway Motors does that with its '34 Model A pickup. It's an extended cab that Henry never made. I sat in my neighbor's '34, could hardly work the clutch it was so tight!
In reply to VolvoHeretic :
Mr. Heretic, I love your idea, but perhaps cutting between the rear edge of the door and the rear wheel well would be simpler. Alas, the plug needed would be 13.3" more or less. That would increase the overall length to 169" of the 356/818. Still, a laudable goal for the valiant. Easiest done without a roof, though adding the roof makes the car more useful. Big flares maybe?
818 356
Wheelbase: 96 inches 82.7
Overall length: 155 inches 152.4–157.9
Front track: 59.5 inches 50.8
Rear track: 59.0 inches 49.2
Overall height: 52.5 inches 48.0–51.8
Overall width: 69.5 inches 65.4
The 818 sold for $12000, which with the parts and WRX parts seems like a good price.
In reply to sotaro :
It could be cut and stretched right behind the door jam but I have no way of showing that with Paint 3D. I also never checked whether the widths would work out.

Colbra? I wonder if it could beat a Slingray.
A guy over on The Samba has been trying to sell a Porsche 908 for a few years. He wants $11K just for the body.

That's exactly what I need for the gaggle of 48 IDAs on a 351W intake manifold that is sitting in my shed.
All I would need is a Pantera transaxle and a set of 180 degree bundle of snakes. Should be $100 on eBay, right?

He's been trying to sell that for months and months.
