I would love a pallet jack and 5 minutes to do a supermarket sweep of that place.

It was an amazing story. I think they said at the end that the car was sold to someone in Australia? The SCCA was never going to let it run again so they bowed our like the gentlemen that they were.

I'd really like to follow that car. Doubtful we'll ever see anything comparable to that extent of R&D and build in club racing in the foreseeable future. That was a real piece of work.

Box of assorted turbochargers

All the bad ideas come to mind.

I'd love to have one of those C-Tek boxes with tools.

I'm having trouble seeing where this stuff would need to be picked up and by when. Anyone have better luck finding that?

It might be worth 15 bucks just to go peruse the auction.

This would make a fun Midwest GRM meetup!!

Lots of amazing racing tech in that sale.

Auburn Indiana, I'm thinking I'll go watch the insanity. Pretty sure my wife would flip if I brought home one of those trailers (that's what caught my eye).

I think I'm going to bid on this Ferrari racing seat. If I win, my Buick is getting the most pretentious front seat swap ever.

Yeah Matt, I hear ya. Between the seats, jacks, wheels, turbos, tools, toolboxes...so much goodness!

In all seriousness, even if you're not totally intending to bid, just attending auctions is pretty cool. Have fun.

And on a related note, Mitchum Motorsports stuff is up for auction.

I hope the results get posted. Curious to see how far of the estimates are for some of the lots.

If this was a week later, I would totally be going but I can't get off work until the 15th.

Well I guess that answers the question of how do you run a successful race team.

You don't.

Exactly. I have never understood this weird obsession with acquiring money at all cost. I wonder if Scott thinks it was worth it now? He has pretty much lost or will lose everything, lost his brother, disgrace and shame and very likely prison time. This weekend at the local autocross in my 8 year old Miata I will feel just as good as he did spending his millions. Are there any honest people left?

IROC was based in Tinton Falls, NJ, near where I live. I went to the auction when they closed shop, thinking there would be crazy deals but it wasn't so. People showed up ready to spend money. Someone even spent real money for the paint booth (maybe $8k), which a regular auction-attendee told me almost never happens because you have to remove stuff that day. He said booths often go for scrap value.

They were auctioning off lots of tools outside. I had my eyes on an assortment of pliers but it was really cold so I stepped inside. When I glanced outside moments later they were off the shelf. Ooops! I jumped back out and quickly won ... a box of hammers. About 15 of them in 3 different sizes. My wife and friends still laugh about it.

I can't come up with money that fast, if only there was a place I could get a loan until payday...
