I may have a chance to grab this for cheap.
Not sure how rusty it is but supposedly all new brakes were done and it's getting a new rear bumper before the sale due to somebody running into it recently. Only 100,000 miles on the V6. It needs tires at least
Thinking about selling my 14 Frontier which I hardly ever use and replacing it with this. Or possibly just for a quick flip.
what is the value of these? Are these reliable?
In reply to rustybugkiller :
Are you okay with the tiny bed of the S10 w/ 4 door. It is only 54.5 inches or 4 ft 6.5". The Frontier is small too but bigger at 60 inches or 5 full feet
In todays crazy market for 4 door trucks, that S10 might bring $6k and $1k more if 4x4 and mint. Needs tires so maybe take off $1k
Sample w/ repainted r fender rust asking $5k and 160k miles
Rusty, dented, asking $4k
Asking $15k for near-mint
In reply to John Welsh :
I prefer my 6 ft bed.
At $1500 I may be doing a flip
The v6 in these suffered from dexcool, and the 4l60e was not exactly robust. However, if its cheap enough, it'll be a good flip. Id say a clean, low mileage and rust free 4x4 at tax time would be a 5k truck easy

Yeah, super easy sale at tax return time or about the end of Jan. Given corona-madness in the used market, easy sale any time.
I bought it. Well, once the bumper is fixed by insurance.
Needs tires and front end work.
Brakes, shocks done. HG done two years ago.
Had some body rust but frame solid.
Neighbor has new tires on Blazer wheels he'll sell for $200 swap. I may take that as well.
I hated to see this go to someone else and turn around and make a profit. At the worst I Think I can get my money back out of it. Hopefully more.
Insurance work? Front end damage?
So, the damage was not enough to total the truck. Let's see the damage.
Seems to me that if there was $3k of damage (repaired at a body shop) that the insurance company would have totaled the truck
Oh, rear bumper.
Not exactly rust free but if that bumper gets fixed before you buy it for $1500, it's a great deal.
Even if $1500 and you have to pay to fix, still a decent deal.
Is the hitch bent? Did that bend the frame with it? Will a new bumper line up correctly without the help of a frame machine?
Is that damage from an impact? It looks like damage from a failing, rusted connection; like someone really heavy stood on the weak bumper.
It's getting fixed before purchasing. Someone ran into him. Frame is ok bumper mount was rusted.
Pretty sure if I decide not to mess with it, I could throw the tires on it and easily get $2500. The more I fix the more I'll get
Can't speak for your market, but in my current shopping I found a 98 S10 ZR2 with only 50k at a used car lot. He's asking $6750 which I think is pretty normal for an inflated dealership retail price. I'm probably going to go look at it and try to tempt him with $5k cash.
Do check very well for rust. S10s aren't terrible about it, but they rust more than average, and in places that are pretty critical - spring shackles, frame bends, cab corners and mounts, radiator support.
And brake lines. Seems like GM makes brake lines out of something that rusts even faster than anything around it.
