I have opportunity to trade my 2004 Infiniti I35 (120k mi) for a 2008 Nissan Quest (130k mi). Quest is actually in little better shape.
Any reason not to? Looked a few other flavors but quest has a lot more room inside.

Too many variables here, but the main question is why the other person wants an older car worth less money?

Probably not hard to find people wanting to trade a minivan for something not a minivan....

Oof! For some reason I thought the quest was one of those SUV things. Now I see why they want to get rid of it, LOL.
Well I did a thang..
Sorry for a quick, brief, crappy what to do post. Always get last minute jitters before a vehicle purchase.
Before everyone chimes in with oh no. You shoulda got dodge, Toyota , Honda...
First off I had a max MAX $5k budget.
Spent afternoon with swmbo driving few dodges, Chryslers, Ford, Honda. Then came across this quest.
The dodges drove pretty good but seemed basic and small imo.
The Ford.. ugh after starting it and checking it over I didn't even drive it.
The Honda was really great, but had 170k on the clock and I know maintenance can be pricey.
The quest seemed to be the best(128k mi). Actually had service history, and was the most spacious out of bunch we looked at.
Wasn't planning to but traded my Infiniti in for $2000. It's an old 04 I-35,basically fancy ass maxima. But, 120kmi, old cracked tires, needs full coolant revamp, brakes, susp refresh all around, broke sunroof, bad motor/trans mounts, and leaky ac system...
Ended up walking out paying $1800 for the van.
Now the adventure begins
I had this 2005 Quest
I bought it with 125k miles as a pretty rough example. I put over 10k business miles on it in about 6 months before it got the Challenge graphics. Generally, I liked it.
In 2004 this van was introduced. In 2006 Chrysler came out with stow-n-go, but I would say that this had the second best (and first) folding seat in the van-game. It is not intuitive on how it works so read the manual but these 2nd row seats fold really flat. The rear seat folds flat too but no split allowing to fold only half.
This body went from 2004-2009. The first two years had some teething problems most notably plastic chain guides. For 2006 they went metal. For 2007 they look was refreshed and this included the gauges moving away from the goofy center to a more normal "front of driver" configuration. So, your 2008 is a good year for these Quest vans. I think it could serve you well. They are huge inside.
They have a reputation for trans issues. I'll bet this stems from a car transmission moving this really heavy box through the air. The trans is probably overworked compared to the same trans in a Maxima.
My son had one. It did minivan things much like the Dodges and Chevies I had. No major complaints other than the timing belt being a pain to replace and Nissans affinity for small rubber cooling hoses under the intake. I think his was a late 90s version though.

Your son probably had the American Made, Mercury Villager which was also rebadged as the first Nissan Quest.
