I'm sure this has been brought up a few times before but I'm bringing it up again. So which is better. Plan on redoing my interior and I know this site has a diverse amount of car enthusiasts who has done this

DuPont Vinyl Dye and a Preval sprayer trumps both by a mile. Of course it's more expensive, and you need to find a good DuPont jobber (who may be able to mix you 1/2 pints). The amount of colors are unlimited, too.
I'm curious about this also. From my (limited) research SEM makes a better product than VHT, as far as interior dye products anyway. I haven't tried it yet, but I was planning to go with SEM.
If you wanna chase scratches forever, go for it. I had an auto trim shop in the eighties and nineties and stayed away from that dye. the only time paint sticks is when you dont want it to.
I've had very good experience with the SEM products. Haven't tried the VHT stuff yet. Years ago I tried some Plasticote dye and that was awful.
The key is to get everything clean. Keep cleaning until the water doesnt' bead up. I used the SEM cleaner and adhesion promoter on the hard plastics and just the cleaner on straight vinyl. Worked great.
Honeslty I like colorbond more than SEM.
Plenty of OEM match colors and it doesn't leave a texture to the surface like the SEM seems to. Seats painted with SEM feel rough.
This dash started life as a nasty VW baby blue
It felt exactly the same after it was dyed.
You can use that stuff on seats also?
Looks good! I've heard good things about SEM but have no personal experience.
I did the horrendous 1st gen RX7 maroon with SEM black and it worked great, note cleaning it properly is essential with SEM. However I did not use the original seats so can't comment on the old Japanese leather
I used the Platicoat or VHT stuff on a small piece of F-250 trim. It worked well, but to be fair, it wasn't a high wear area. The paint shop recommended the primer that goes along with the dye. It worked well. Possibly because of the primer.
