On the list of things to do: build Locost.

The only thing I didn't love was the Linkin Park.

I especially liked how you had to maintain constant effort to keep a strait face and not break into a goofy grin. I needs me one of those.

it looks very nice indeed, but I have to rib a little:

-Where's the mechanical bits? You show us plenty of boulevard cruising, but no underhood or suspension. What is this, a lifestyle vid? Where's Robin Leach?

I have to agree, too many vids with background music, when I watch a car vid, I want to hear engine music especially in a car with no stereo. You know so we can expereience the ride the way you are.........

2002maniac, mine is not the BMW powered one you are thinking of. Mine uses a 1982 Toyota Corolla for a donor.

NICE! This is very motivational for me. Did you fabricate the front suspension to your own geometry or did you use existing plans?

Yep. Need one of those. NOW.

Giant Purple Snorklewacker, thanks for the comment. I designed/fabricated the front suspension myself. I basically designed the lower wishbone such that the factory Toyota van lower ball joint could be bolted to it, and made it the right length so that the front track width was the same as the rear. The upper wishbone was a simple straight piece with a threaded end to accept the threaded upper ball joint, and a curved piece to clear the coilover.

I'm so jealous! I was looking at a FM kit or a Brunton Super Stalker. Sadly the price of those kits is around the same as a C5 so I had to give up the dream. How hard would you say this build was?

I would say that there wasn't any part of the build that was particularily hard, but it was quite time consuming. There is a lot of support on the Locost forums, so there are not many problems that haven't been solved already by someone else, just a lot of work to get it done.

It took me just over 3 years to build it, working on it approximately 10 hours a week.
