I have a 75 vette that I am looking to build and put into a class. I have look all through SCCA's site and can not find anything for a car of my year. Someone told me recently that there is a vintage class. Can someone please point me in the right direction?
Thanks
What are you intending to do with it ? Road race, aurocross or what.
Vintage cars usually go by age, type and engine size.
Racing or autocross, the age doesn't really matter.
Lots of people autocross old corvettes. Usually in street prepared or prepared class.
Thanks for the replies. I was looking to race it. I have considered auto cross, but was looking more for the door to door competition.
forgot to mention that it is a t-top (coupe) car with a 350 4speed if that makes any kind of difference.
You probably will have to fasten the T tops permenately.
Of course you will need a roll cage. improved suspension ,brakes & tires for starters. then there are all the other goodys like onboard fire extinguisher and on and on.
Building a race car from a street car is not an easy or inexpensive job.
Put some good tires on it and auto cross it.
actually, according to what i have seen you just have to take the T-tops out when you are running it. (for autocross as well)
they are worried because in some applications (3rd gen camaros for one) they have a reputation to fly off.

They are similar to SVRA rules.
And don't forget about track events. They're a great way to get track experience, yet as long as the car is safe no one cares about the specific prep.
