VRG-2013
Can spectators attend your events? I might try to go to VIR in April to check out your organization.
If I read the rules correctly, my 1977 Capri would qualify since the model was in production before 1972?

VRG has Capris running, so you should be OK. But it's always best to attend an event before building your car and discuss details with some of the officials. At very least contact a club official via the website (I'd suggest reaching out to Mark Palmer).
Individual circuits make their own rules on spectators (VRG has no control over this). Summit Point is very welcoming and generally charges a modest entrance fee for spectators. NJ Motorsports Park does the same thing for most (but not all) events. But Watkins Glen is very strict and only allows pre-registered crew members to attend club races.
It is always good to call the actual race track and see what their policy is for that particular event.
FYI...According to VIR, the Vintage Racer Group event there on April 12-14 is not a "spectator" event, but you can pay th $10 facility entrance fee and watch the race.
Watkins Glen just announced that they will have the Argetsinger grandstand (formerly red, white and blue, on the outside of turn 2) open free to spectators during all non-spectator events.
