And I've been looking at tidewatersportscarclub but so far pretty much every event or meeting has been on a work day for me. Lame. Anyways not trying to thread jack... So when are you looking to move to VA? The winters here are not terrible. Stock wheels w/decent tires & raise the suspension up and you should be fine (at least that's what I'm planning on doing)

ok, ok, ok... so my spatial geography is a bit off . It takes me 7hrs to get to VIR from waaay up here in NEPA so I figure anywhere in VA is a hell of a lot closer. I'll be towing 4.5 hours one way this week to race against like minded maniacs in NJ. You love racing and cars? Get in one and go somewhere!

EDIT: Sorry for the threadjack. I'm into the 2nd pot of coffee. Things are beginning to blur and jump.

Hampton Roads is kind of situated in a perfectly far from everything type of spot. Close to Blue Ridge Parkway & US129... but not that close. Close to VIR... but not that close lol. I was actually planning on doing an HPDE at VIR in late September, but for the money I think what I'll end up doing is a 3 day vacation at US129.

Virginia is a working example of how building more highways just creates more traffic. Every time I drive down there to visit my relatives and friends it seems like they are adding more lanes and more overpasses and the traffic is still just as crappy as it was before.

That said, there are some nice spots down there. My friend has a big plot of land down in Manassas with a barn and a decent sized house and enough room to store multiple ATVs that we ride all around the area visiting his neighbors.

Agreed. The more roads, the worse the traffic. And even most of the new roads are terrible, which I've always found sort of weird. Up in NOVA you get stuff like that but where I live is predominately military, so it's just a bunch of people crammed into townhouses & apartment complexes without much breathing room.

I blame this solely on the DC area people that refuse to stay in their hole (AKA inside the beltway). Whenever they venture anywhere else in the state, they HAVE to stay in the left lane because they are oh so important, regardless of their speed or traffic conditions.

We could cure 90% of the traffic issues in most of Virginia with proper lane discipline. Heck, I could probably amend that to 90% of traffic issues in the whole country.
