I have a quick question on a Volvo transmission specifically for a 2007 3.2 XC-90. It's my wife DD and it has about 98Kmiles right now. I had the dealer change the transmission fluid at about 50kmiles. 99% of the time it shifts fine but once in a blue moon it'd all of a sudden downshift for no good reason. This usually happened when I turned like at a traffic light turning left or after passing an intersection. It's a very jerky downshift. Other than this it shifts up and down normally most of the time. Is this something I should worry about, is there a known inherent problem with these transmissions and will changing the transmission fluid at the next oil change at right around 100kmiles help lengthen the life of the transmission? Thanks for the input guys. We are trying to decide whether to keep it or change it. Knock on wood it has been relatively trouble free. The only non maintenance issue we've had were bad TPMS sensor, bad idler pulley and fan belt, and bad harness set for the rear DVD player which was replaced during the CPO period so all in all it's been a reliable entry-level luxury 7-seater SUV (that uses regular instead of premium gas) with all the bells and whistles such as the seat heater, sat nav, and rear seat DVR.
