Could somebody learn me a little of the new beetle? Ive seen a few ads lately on kijiji, wondering the pros and cons, most seem to need engines or engine work. Are they real brutes to work on? Thanks in advance Jeff

Inside smells like a Crayola factory. Everyone we've had at work for routine maintenance seemed to hold their fluids in about as well as a coffee filter. That's all I got.
A guy at work keeps telling me that he had to remove the front bumper to change his girlfriend's radiator.

This is true, but it comes off in about 20 minutes if you know what you are doing!
all I know is I hate the one my neighbors have. Not only did they lose the correct key for it so that the alarm goes off everytime they go anywhere.. but the flex pipe went so the exhaust is annoying when on or off boost,
That is all I have
I wouldnt consider any except a diesel, and even then it would still hinge on the condition of the rest of it.
Headgaskets on 1.8Ts are what you might call 'tedious'.
thanks folks! thats what i needed to hear! i've been scouring kijiji ads to try and buy/flip a car or 2, you know trying to make a bit of cash
They aren't that terrible to work on really, you can take the wipers off and unsnap the big plastic part below the windshield then there is plenty of room to get to everything. The automatic transmissions are terrible, and the 2.0 8v engine is really slow. If you can find a manual tdi or maybe 1.8t powered one those are probably the only ones worth messing with.

yes, but for different reasons. I do not like the drone the 1.8 has when off boost.. and when on, the whoosh is very ricer
