Anybody know how to install the drip rails on a Mk2 VW GTI? Or, where to find instructions on how to do it? So far. I haven't found anything. Thanks

Installation is the opposite of disassembly.

I knew I could count on you, John ! Except, I wasn't the one who took it apart !

I know someone who did it, I will ask him tomorrow. If I remember right it just snaps into little plastic clips that attach to the car, but it is extremely hard to get them to stay. Find the best set you can to replace them, becasue new ones cost many hundreds of dollars if you can even find them (like $900 a set isnt out of the ordinary for NOS ones).

Travis, thanks. I have a decent looking set from another car and a set of the little clips. Ask your buddy if the clips go into the drip rail and are then pressed onto the roof studs, OR do you put the clips on the roof studs and then press on the drip rail?

I find this not to be true. I can't remember the last time I had to pull the torches out to get the bolt to go in.

You must be doing it wrong. I have had to pull out torches, sawzall and a grinder just to put a trim screw back once. People wonder why I never finish anything!
