traction control, street tires, plus automatic plus low bumper height vs tall bumper height, soft lifted springs, mud tires on asphalt, etc...

not too surprising really. Not sure what the hell the video says about tie rods?

I gotta love these pull-offs. I could probably beat one of these guys with my Scion if I got the jump on them.

Of course, I would need a new clutch, tires, axles, and a new pair of underwear, but it could be done.

He had it in 4wd and managed to snap a tie rod, you can see for a second that the front wheels are pointing towards each other.

I'm not suprised. Mud-Terrain tires get E36 M3 for traction on pavement.

If I wanted to tear it up, I'm sure my 8200 lb excursion with rear limited slip would be pretty dominate in these pointless exercises. But I've seen enough tugawars to know that they depend a lot more on tires and reaction (and often just plain dumb luck) so I don't really see the point. I've seen the same 2 trucks hook half a dozen times and trade the "win" back and forth.
