He was helping his significant other?/codriver out and warming tires this event. As she basically helped him do that on the last event he won. He just happened to win doing it :p. At least that was what I remember reading.
Not what I was getting at. Hollis won STX with his ST Civic. The STX class is littered with E30's and Civic's from ST. When did that become legal?
ST cars have always been legal in STX and STU from the start of those classes.
If you look at a lot of the national tours in the last year or two you will see a lot of civic's running with additional drivers in STX.

STX has a more liberal rule-set than ST and even allows the addition of limited-slip diffs. The rules do not prohibit entering a class that is (at least in theory) faster. The Hollis' took advantage of the rule (it is NOT a loophole) and both happened to win.
Also, both Andy and Ann are heavily involved with administrative responsibilities during the week of competition. They chose to run STX because the run/work order interfered the least with their schedule.
The ST classes are reportedly due for a major overhaul this winter, so it's very possible the Civic may be ineligible for STX next year. Maybe that will appease the under-achieving whiners who complain about getting beaten by cheap 20yr-old "crap boxes" - but that's doubtful.
Yeah, ST cars have always been legal to bump "up". I don't personally feel it is a bump "up", though. LOL.
Was talking with Andy, and he mentioned he ran STX, because Ann has been running STXL all year, and he wanted to be able to give her insight and data on the courses before she ran. Also, they would be running on the same days, this way. I was more focused on the Pro, and once he won that, wanted to do everything possible to help Ann get her win.
I, personally, don't like ST cars bumping up into STX. The STX cars CAN beat the ST cars, but that is course dependent. And most courses favor the smaller, lighter car out of ST.

Anything coming out now is not going to change the class until 2012. So the civic's have at least one more year they can run STX.
OK, so they're not running in ST then? It was my understanding that you could only enter 1 class at Nationals (though I could be wrong).
It does mean an awful lot of ST drivers went to STX instead of ST.

Very true!
And the haterz will still hate, instead of driving better and building better cars - like what happens in virtually class.

Each driver can only enter one class at nationals. You can enter the car in as many classes as it fits in (as long as you can work out the schedule).
Since STX is not faster than ST most times some people rent out their civic for additional drivers in STX.
