That's political speak, "I want to see this happen" somehow gets heard as "this is what will happen." Between the money and the enviromental inpact studies, it's really tough for such plans to go through. I can't remember how many times I've heard this same claim in our area and it hasn't happened yet.
From what I remember there's not much room to build a track in that county. Eglin AFB takes up most of the county.
Maybe they are going to build it on the base.
Makes sense. The Air Force would pay for the whole thing.
