Well, too bad.
It's hard to imagine having that and not driving it. I have spent a lot of time in WWII vintage Jeeps and I'd love to have one now.
Back when I was a youngin, say age 11 or 12, I was in the local Fourth of July parade, and beside us in the staging lanes was this elder gentleman in an early Jeep. I commented to him that I really liked old Jeeps, and especially WWII Jeeps. (At this point in time I was still big into military stuff, I've always been a gearhead.)
He tells me that this is the exact Jeep he drove as occupying forces in Japan right after the war. He liked it so much he bought it afterward, as it was decomissioned around the same time he was sent home.
I never bought it, and old men are known to fabricate outlandish stories, especially about "the war" However, I always thought it was neat to see an early Willy's Jeep up close, especially in use.
I never saw it again.
