I need to rebuild the outer cv of a '90 miata, its a modified unit that I use for a driveshaft in my BEC so just buying a reman doesn't really help me much.
I've googled around and can't seem to find anything other than boot kits and complete reman'd shafts. The reman guys are getting the parts somewhere so...
If anyone can point me in the right direction that would be great.
A whole day and no replies?,and I thought this was an unofficial miata site.
I do seriously need to track one down asap.
From everything I have heard cv joints can't reliably be rebuilt. The autozone ones are really poor quality, and the only way they get away with selling them is they have a lifetime free replacement policy. I hesitate to call it a warranty because it's not if, it's when they will go bad. Is buying a new factory joint and modifying it an option? I'm not sure exactly what you are using it for, but other than fwd outer joints, cv joints can last a very long time if they are kept clean with good grease.
