The tractor wouldn't start. I had spark, I could smell fuel (smelled rich) and the battery was brand new. I decided to remove the air filter and try some starting fluid.
Perhaps it was the mouse in the intake manifold. The strange thing is that I started and drove the tractor for about ten minutes, then parked and washed it. I guess the pressure washer chased him in a little farther.
I think there's a TSB for that.
LOL! I have had a lot of live ones jump out of my stored equipment, but never found one blocking the innards.
I just killed a very clever rat in the shed. I got her spouse a week or so ago. This one would steal the bait from the rat traps, steal the bait from my bucket trap without falling into the water, climb into the "live" "humane" cage trap that you then humanely cap whatever is caught inside, then muscle her way out, bending the cage door. Harbor Freight rat traps were best used as a hammer. I had to do a trigger job on a Victors rat trap. Got her this morning in it. Biatch.
Maybe next time I should try GLUE TRAPS. You hear me, GLUE TRAP BOY? Your Google Fu pulling up this thread yet? GLUE TRAP GLUE TRAP GLUE TRAP.
I have had to dig one out of the heater box in my van before. The van had been sitting for several months. Not only did he move in, he brought his house and most of the acorns out of the monster oak tree in the yard.

Mice are one thing I'm really concerned about with my E30 in the back yard for the winter. I stuffed steel wool into the intake and exhaust... not sure what I can do for the HVAC tho...
I'm all about good ole fashion bait-less mouse traps. So far, they've never failed to catch little intruders...
scented dryer sheets will keep the critters away, stuff em everywhere, stinkier the better

I read on another forum that Bounce dryer sheets are highly effective to keep mice out of cars. I've loaded my M3 up with a small box worth while it sleeps next to my house - in the interior, trunk, engine compartment, intake tract, exhaust tailpipes, you name it. We'll see...
Edit - fasted beat me to it!

i saw some BS on the interwebs about humanely releasing a mouse from a glue trap to set it free when i was trying to find info about how to safely get the trap off the dog's paw.
glue traps and a bucket of water outside the back door work for me. except the cat got into the bucket and got the trap and mouse stuck to her paw.

Here, PETA PETA PETA.....
Just for fun I chased one round the C channel frame of my utility trailer. A pellet pistol is just the thing.

^^^ What he said. A pellet pistol is just the thing. Oh wait, you meant for the rodents. Nevermind....
What is up with the glue traps?
At least it was just a mouse and not a honey badger. The honey badger wouldn't have cared.
Wish my glue traps would catch something like this instead of mice.
Glue traps work! I had a sneaky one get in the house and she (?) stripped every type of trap I could put out. She was getting fat off of what I was feeding her.
She was so sneaky and had such a light touch I figured she must be very small so I got a glue trap. BTW don't stick your finger on one just to see how sticky it is, just take their word for it.
Got her in less than an hour, and it's a good thing I did. She was preggers and looked about to pop. I then took her out and left her on the driveway for the owls. Nothing left the next morning.
Now that I'm thinking about it, why did I give the owls a free meal? If they'd been doing their job right the mouse would never have been in the house in the first place.
And pellet guns aren't the be all, end all for varmits - paintball guns are. They are worse to clean up but they hit with greater force, it's easy to say where you missed so you can correct your aim and you can fire faster.
Just a dirty air filter, clean that up and she should be good to go!
In reply to carguy123:
And how come the glue trap she was stuck to didn't also catch the Owls?
I have no idea but the mouse was gone and you could see a talon mark in one part of the glue. The owl held the trap down with one foot and pulled the mouse off?

1: You gave the owls the free meal to entice them to hang out around your house more often.
2: Depends upon the pellet gun. Some have much more force than a paintball gun. Then again....such pellet guns can't match 12-15 balls per second. If it doesn't squish...you can drown it in paint?

The PETA guy, HenryC, shows up about page 2. We find out a tad bit more about him on page 4.
Bait: How do I use glue traps for mice. forum. mouse glue trap.
I've heard more than one report of people putting out dryer sheets and then the mice use them to make their nests, so I don't know if they work that well. Same thing for putting out bars of soap, mice will eat them too.
For the mice, I've actually had fairly good luck with a bucket trap. I put one under the house with 50:50 antifreeze in it and I don't think I've had a mouse in the house since. I pull a dead scout mouse out of the bucket every few months.

I like when people bring in the cars and claim that the mouse damage is covered under warranty. We had a 3 year old wagon that was so infested, you would watch the headliner move from the critters commuting. The insurance company totaled that one because of hanta virus fears. Nothing like feeding the rug rats Cheerios and never vaccumming the car.
