Did some say IHC? I may as well pimp this then.

In reply to Teh E36 M3: Not really, I am a fan of old fashioned. I honestly enjoy driving the e21 the most out of my now fleet(I'm secretly trying to take down swank force 1 in the fleet of fail category) New stuff is nice and all, but it always lacks character, style, a soul, and all that other jazz.

You're perhaps in the running for the GRM fleet of fail, but we are both in the running for the Central indiana title.
Although my stuff is generally more capable.
Steve, know where I can find a relatively affordable 6v71 or 6v92? This video makes me lust for one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1YXx4kytNU
You know what would be the best road test for that truck ever? Hop on over the central IL with a trailer and grab the coolest green wagon you can find and haul it to Texas. If if makes it then it will have proven itself.
That truck is great. I'd like to get an old flatbed myself. I like the idea of puttering around at 50mph you won't get there fast but you'll get there eventually.

And you can bring whatever you want with you, Firewood ,rocks, car parts...

Oh, it'll end up faster than that......its staying BG powered until I can find a Detroit and trans though.....

Whats the gear ratio for 4th gear on the 4 speed? Because depending what it all is, I might be interested towards the end of the year. Any leads on rear end gearsets, I know you were looking for ClifFord the big red truck.
Ben, I'll have to line everything up outside, but that won't even pull it off.....this truck is too practical(being able to haul both your XJ and mx6 to the scrapyard without breaking a sweat)

Line up my Miata with everything too.

Your 429 prolly has 3x the power my bg241 has......FML
I'm seriously going to refer to your f700 as Clifford for the duration of your ownership.....
No idea on ratio but with a 30,000lb bus, trailer and Mustang it will run at 80mph on level road, not so well uphill though.
Clifford might work BTW the 429 is rated at 185 hp, not earth shattering, but it might have a little torque.

I'm stuck doing farm prep until the 14th, then I'll be working at Mecum's Spring Classic for a week.
Through the summer I'll make one though. I'll guarantee that.
Yamaha you have such great taste....that truck is so cool i would have to drive it like it is....i hope you have a great time with it

The carb is spitting thus preventing me from actually driving it long distances. Well, and the 50ish mph speed cap.
If anyone has access to a 6-71 Detroit, I need exact dimensions. I have a feeling if the fan is included in the overall length, and if the oil pan will play nice with me, that I can shoehorn that monster in here......I am going to check the local truck salvage place to see if they happen to have any laying around that I could measure.
People must realize, vehicles 50 yrs. ago were very different. Speeds were much lower, hell 55 was flying. So the best thing with a 50 year old truck is to drive it like it was designed. Slow.
