Thread from 2013:

I know there's a bit of love around here for these. Just down the road from where I am now. I have no idea if that price is crazy or correct, cool little car though. http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/cto/3720128397.html 1992 MAXTON ROLLERSKATE - Very Rare - $17700

Seller said: Incredible performance....like a 4-wheeled motorcycle! Easily revs over 9000 RPM, yet has the torque to lay two strips of rubber!! The most fun you can have on 4 wheels!!! #19 of approx. 50 built 200+ hp ported Mazda 13B fuel-injected rotary engine Super low miles: 3,600 miles Weight: 1680 lbs. Full weather gear: top, side curtains, and tonneau cover Custom Covercraft (Evolution 4) car cover Simpson 4-point racing harnesses VDO gauges Rare long-wheelbase version; accommodates tall drivers! The Maxton Owners' Register only indicates 8 other Maxtons as long-wheelbase versions. Only long-wheelbase Maxton with fuel-injection Only long-wheelbase Maxton with limited slip rear differential Only long-wheelbase Maxton with 4-wheel disc brakes Only 1 other Maxton(Production Car #1) is known to be equipped with fuel-injection or limited slip diff or rear discs. (See Production Car #1 here: http://kenscheepers.com/maxton.htm) Some details on the conversion to fuel-injection and rear axle: The engine in Maxton Rollerskate #19 is an early 13B(c. 1975) that was rather heavily ported before I got it, so even now it has a rather lopey idle. Here are the mods that I've had made(work performed by JPR Imports http://jprimports.com/): Installation and wiring of Haltec computer Injectors and fuel rails Upper and lower manifold Throttle sensor Water temp. sensor MAP sensor Fuel pump, filter and lines Ignition coil and wires Crank sensor Weld in O2 bung Tuning of ECU Swap in new rear end w/ limited slip diff. and disc brakes New brake cables For more info on the rare Maxton Rollerskate, see the website for the Maxton Owners' Registry: http://mxtnrollerskate.home.comcast.net/~mxtnrollerskate/ Also, here are some videos I posted on YouTube: 1) Maxton Rollerskate Promotional Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=thLov9bWR18 2) Maxton Rollerskate on MotorWeek: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=djPgldMoFO0 3) Maxton Rollerskate on "Good Afternoon Colorado": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZThqr8_h77M Also, see this segment from My Classic Car on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=psAgG_4GYSU More information and pics available. NOTE: This is the rare long-wheelbase model(96" WB vs. 90" for the SWB car), made specifically for taller drivers. I am 5'10" tall w/ a 32" inseam, and I drive the car with the seat all the way forward. If you have legs shorter than mine, you will not be able to comfortably drive this car, so a SWB 'Skate would be a better choice for you. Sorry, but there is no sense wasting your time or getting your hopes up only to discover that the car doesn't fit you.

Ahh, indeed you are correct, just looked it up. Looked like he was here briefly for the big thread that was going on Maxtons for awhile.

There was one at the Mitty in 2011, I haz much love for the Rollerskate, I spoke to the owner and he described the seating position exactly like this advert.

It might be the same one

Old thread but I just saw this.

I am the owner of this car.  In the end I decided to keep it and have been improving it.  Put in a nw computer and it runs great.  So great that I burned up the clutch with one two many hard launches!  Hard to resist...so much fun.  New clutch now.  :-)
