I'd love to do this, but I don't think I could handle the commute.

I'd be applying right now if you were in chicago (also known as: what bravenrace said)

How hard is it to get a green card up there?

I have no idea, I don't think Canada uses green cards. I think a work visa is what you would be after.

Dammit! If I wasn't in the interior right now, I would be all over this.

Better do it now to avoid the rush this November.

Can I work from home?

Actually, right now the immigration department is backed up with the Syrian refugees, so normal applications are going very slowly, or so I've heard. They can be glacially slow at the best of times. I listened to a pretty good rant from a local builder who was getting horribly run around trying to bring Irish tradesmen over here a couple of years ago.

I however, am Canadian, and a pretty good mechanic and welder, if I do say so myself. Sadly I own my own business and prefer modification to restoration. Plus, I hate carburetors...

Well, you can e-mail the boss at the address in the ad. We have a small machine shop in house and I'm usually the guy running it but I'm no machinist.

A while back you were posting about not knowing what you wanted to do with your life.

Maybe you should send an e-mail or hop in your truck and make a roadtrip. This might be opportunity knocking.

The shop owner lived in a tent in a campground when he was a young apprentoid. You've got a pickup truck and I have a truck camper that I no longer want.

BTT.

G_Body_Man...

Still haven't heard from you.

FWIW, there's an '06 Ford GT, a 1965 275 GTB and a 1956 Mark II in the shop right now. You're missing out...

Don't suppose you guys want to sponsor an Aussie? I'd love to live in Canada for a while :)

G body man, pull your finger out. Some of the opportunity's being offered to you from members on this board is stuff I would have killed for, and some I still would.

I hate you so much right now. I would love to give this kind of thing a go, but like others have said, the commute would be killer. Good luck in your search!

Dream job in a dream location. I just moved to a different department within the same company and my work/life balance now actually has some life in it. I'd be a fool to walk away. Still this opportunity is excruciatingly tempting.

G body man, go for it. You're young and have a passion for cars. This could be the first step in a, long, fulfilling career and a happy life doing what you love.

If I may be so bold.

Re: dream location...

It was 24c out here the other day, time to get the mesh motorcycle gear out.

Downside is, it costs a lot out here too. Housing costs are silly.

That being said, we have some of the best: Surfing, skiing, mountain biking, camping, hiking and motorcycle roads in all the world out here so the cost can be worth it.

Opportunity does not knock much louder than this.
