We've got info on the Miata reveal.

Okay–we know you want to know what we know.

So here it is:

The 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata will be unveiled today at 6pm Pacific time.

You can watch the reveal live on YouTube or UStream.

Duran Duran will "anchor the reveal with a live performance."

Game on. We'll keep this thread updated, because we're there right now.

Ummm... Duran Duran? Now that I think about it... seems perfect for a Miata "coming out" party.

Everyone, we'd like you to take a stab at drawing the new Miata. Use paint, marker, photoshop, blood, whatever it takes–just post a picture of the drawing in this thread by 9:00 pm eastern time today. Winner will be the drawing that most closely resembles the new car, or that we like best in the event of a tie.

9pm reveal? WTF Mazda.

The reveal is past my bedtime but I'm staying up for it. I'll go home and draw what I'm hoping for. I feel like if I could talk a beautiful lady into letting me sketch it on her body I'd have a better chance of winning.

Don't pay attention to that copyright thingy, I just sketched it up a couple minutes ago.

I made an assumption, due to the nature of the deleted post I would have understood, while I found it hilarious it probably should not have stayed. Sorry.

I'm think'n that we will see a real GT plus a convertible. Possible V6 in the GT. I base this on pure speculation.

I had happily forgotten about this event and would have given it no thought throughout the workday until it came to my attention on a Loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnggg thread that I would see tomorrow with lots of pictures included.

Now, I will be thinking about all day.

I'm not so worried about the styling as I am the efficiency. A 40mpg Miata would make a great commuter.

YES!

Angry smile, inward taper fog lamps, outward taper headlights, turn signal indicators, and (I wish) a duckbill spoiler. Furai-inspired body line (not lines sadly) leading into door handle. No car seats because, according to Looper, Miatas don't need them in the future. Domokun hates the attention he's missing. Also, apparently I made the trunk Sebring size; ignore that m'kay.

Break out the crayons and keep those designs coming.

I'm in the air right now en route to the unveiling. If I have any time left after wrapping up some editorial, I'll whip up my own.
