I mean, is there a record somewhere that can be proven? I'm sitting here watching all these muscle cars cross the block at Meccum and just started thinking how many of them are frequent flyers to auctions. Some of the Chevelles especially I know I've seen before. I can't seem to find anything on Google. What would a record be? 100 owners?
I don't know the answer to the question, but given that when it comes to more expensive cars these auctions become a nonstop parade of 196x Chevelle/Corvette/Camaro/Mustang/yawn... So it's possible you just saw a car that looks like another one from the auction.

An awful lot of Hellcats and variants on auction

I'd bet its something mundane.
Do you mean paid for in full, or who's name is on the registration? Cause the latter? There's an Altima or Charger somewhere with that honor

Yup. Tomorrow there's a run of 15-20 in a row. All are basically brand new. I actually like the Charger Hellcat (not the Challenger so much), but don't want to see a dozen of them in a row.
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, but those 196x Chevelle/Corvette/Camaro/Mustang/Hellcats are a dime a dozen, so there are probably tons of cars that look the same.
I hear the cyber truck has taken off some fingers. That's changed hands after a fashion...
I recently car faxed a Geo Tracker that has had 18 different owners in 6 states.
How about the Buy Here Pay Here lots that sell and repossess the same cars over and over?
FWIW, when I was Corvette shopping it wasn't uncommon to see cars with 6, 8 even 10 previous owners... in 15 years.
Ya, I still like to watch Mecum but it does get to be monotonous to see car after car cross the block with 15 miles or so on the odometer. That Hellcat run, what was it something like 18 in a row? Same thing with the Ford GT's. Just for investment. And occasionally a car from the 70s with low miles will go across the block. Nobody is going to buy that and daily drive it. The value is in the low miles. Way short on import stuff too. Anyway, I am not saying it's good or bad. Just follows the money making formula. We will see most of these vehicles go across the block in a year or two again.
Well. because Mecum isn't real for me, I'd say the most traded, passed down car is a Corolla.

There's actually quite a nice selection of import, brass era, exotics and oddballs at Mecum. They cross the block early in the auction, mostly when the TV cameras aren't on. Lots of sub $10k cars, several under $5k.

Yeah, has to be some late 80's E36 M3box on Hawaii or something. Lots of transient hippies/farm workers/trustafarians/military recruits combined with a friendly, rust-free environment.
