My dream US van in my dream color.  If JDM, I prefer the Master Ace Surf with the Crystal Roof.

I'd also order the white painted wheel option since there are no aluminum wheels available.

The Mercedes G-Wagen had a pretty long run too. The luxury version was available from 1990 to 2018 without major changes to the chassis though there were lots of engine and transmission changes.  The military/utility version (a different chassis from the luxury version and never officially sold in North America) went from 1979 to 2022 with essentially the same chassis and body but there was an update in 1992.

The Carfax for the van you linked shows a life lived in North Dakota and Minnesota.  In no way would I expect it to meet your Southern California definition of "rust free."

There's no underbody pics but the trailing edge of the front bumper has already lost paint and showing rust.

Thats definitely why it is dirt cheap. I def dont touch MN cars, wasn't sure about the ND. But what you say makes sense.

I saw the bumper pic after I posted it already.

My best bet is UTAH - tons of families with needs for big fans.  I am seeing NV3500 price cuts happening BIG time. So might have to wait out a few months for those ones.

If sliding doors weren't a must - I would have ton more options. But I am not buying a clam door one. I already have FJC in the fleet, don't need another one

Savana's cost $45k? What does the money go towards?? Large 4wd suspension?

No, that's the van only.  Drop it off @ Quigley 4x4 along with approx $20,000 to get that and an optional 3" lift kit.

The Red Express, I called the salesman to take some underneath pics, it is sold.

The one you listed, has oil burning issues, but yes, its not that far.

If you count Caterhams, the Lotus Seven has been around for 66 years (1957-current).

Have we said the dodge Challenger? I feel like we should say the dodge Challenger. Or for that matter, the nissan z car. How long can we put vqs in stuff? Starting to make the lsx platform look positively futuristic

No, they were not all taxis. Private citizens could order one from the factory in Kalamazoo, MI.

I will never understand why they stopped building them? They should have just improved them. Come on that IS A TAXI!

No one mentioned Model T in these 5 pages? It was famous for having the longest production run 1908-1927, and held that record for a while.

I know the Alfa Spider went through "Series", but weren't they all based on the same chassis?  1960s through 1990s?

Ok. Jeeps are probably out of the conversation. Still a nice try though!

Why?!  The jeep only had subtle and minor changes from the 1940's until nearly the next century!  Now, 2023 they are still body-on-frame vehicles with solid axles, removable tops, fold down windshields, hoseable interior, etc. how does that not qualify LOL.
