800 won't get you much of a 240. there have been shells popping up for $500. They are just shells though.
3rd gen- and even early 4th gen- Camaros and Firebirds can be had running and in decent shape for $800 or less.
Yeah, there's this little car, the one everyone's always talking about. Um, now what was the name again? Me, uh, mee... mea... something...
79 to 85 1st gen RX7, make it a GSL and ask me where to check for rust, otherwise its time to be a rotard

That's mostly because there's not much left to rust, right?
Under $800, doesn't have to run? Not a problem. I've seen a few Miatas there. One sold next door to me.
Heck, I got an MGB GT in exchange for setting the valve lash and fixing some buggered dizzy wiring on a Midget. It doesn't run, but it does meet the criteria. Even the minimal rust, surprisingly.

Have new cars really gotten so heavy that anything under 3500 is considered low weight?
xE7x chassis Toyota.....
running, driving examples can be found for $800!
mass under 2500#s, rwd
Powertrain: what do you want? Drag car??? 3TC and keep the worm and roller steering, I know of MANY 10 second blown 3T Corollas... OR, swap the lower front crossmember(on TE7 cars, AE7 cars are all set for 4AG swap) for an AE86 crossmember)... and run rack and pinion steering and a mildly built 145 whp 4AGE....
