Very well could have. It is much faster than a stock one. I have driven others. It feels faster than an AMG version as well. I knew when I test drove it that it was not normal. The 700 ftlbs I would be definitely say is possible. In fact even probable. It would be interesting to plug a boost gauge in to it and see what boost it is making.
What ever it is it is loads of fun to get people in it as passengers and see there reaction to a hard pull. Usually results in many 4 letter words. I have had it about 9 months now and the acceleration just never gets old.
I'd be seriously be tempted to buy another sexy V8 coupe that looks like a million bucks and costs about that much to maintain.
E90 m3. The e39 m5 BMW made for the track.

I like the concept, but $20k can at least get you a facelift coupe, rather than an early cab. Looks like high mileage 997s are starting to appraoch $20k as well. It's not yellow, but that's just a matter of waiting for the right one to show up for sale:

Agreed the yellow is not the best 911 specimen for 20k, the yellow one caught my eye last week, because I am not sure why. I'd likely be swayed from the yellow for a better car.
