During last week's Live! show, someone asked what car we'd like to import from Japan for a project. That 25-year cutoff rule keeps allowing in more and more cool cars.
I picked the Suzuki Cappuccino. A CRX SiR would be up there, but I already kinda had one. Once they're eligible, I think then I'd go with S15 Silvia.
So, what would you import?

I’ve would love to import a Suzuki Alto Works RS/R.
It's still a couple years from being legal but how could anyone pass up a Toyota Cavalier?

You know, I was just thinking that a JDM version of something fairly common here would be funny.
Datsun wagon
A little tuk tuk truck because I loved driving one when I lived there
Every fanboy car that F&F made sky rocket in price, just to flood the market, just because.
On a related note, this Madness Honda City commercial has the best comment: "It awsome how it's a car ad, and the men get around town by walking/dancing."

Especially at the part store.

The Honda Ad is quite the rip-off of Madness' One Step Beyond:
Can I forgo Japan and instead import a Volvo 480 w/ proper LHD?

I was just having that thought process the other day about a 1990 Eunos posted for sake. It looked to be immaculate and a very fair price for a Miata in that condition and low mileage... But It seemed like that would be a lot more of a hassle than just finding a clean USDM Miata.

This. It's the only car I'd put up with RHD for.
Honda City prepared for gymkhana.
Man, this thread really is killin me.
The 20b and the Spirit R were my dream boats back in the days of Gran Turismo 2. I would have given ANYTHING to own either... and then there were the Supras, the turbo Silvias, the Skyline GTR's. It seemed like there was just this LIMITLESS supply of desirable automobiles overseas that we were banned from owning. but I think I've moved on.
I cant think of a single car I'd actually spend the money and effort importing from Japan anymore...
I think Japan's, and subsequently MY, glory days have passed even that of the US's import requirements...
Damn
of course 20B cosmo and I would opt for a bathhurst or spirit R late model rx7
other notables - any silvia's and a Vitz RS
actually scratch that, I kill for a 2016 mazda6 wagon MT
I'll be the fanboi, and say R34 GTR.
'99, in that electric blue color.

In reply to David S. Wallens :
I believe they were all 2.4 DOHC auto cars. Essentially 2 and 4dr Z24's
A first generation Nissan Skyline GT-R.
What would you pick? The Japanese cars I drive or the ones I'd pick from scratch?
USDM CRX with a B16 swap and a V36 G35s
or
AZ-1 and a 7G Galant VR-4

I desperately want to paint my wife's X-Terra either Calsonic or Bayside Blue.
