On the craigslist/junkyard lookout for some better wheels for the wife's Vue. It has 16 x 6.5s with 235/65 - 16s. Basically big spongy marshmallows. Combined with the super-soft suspension its like driving a waterbed. Vues also came with 17x7s and 18x7.5s (redline - rare). I may snag a set of one of those if I come across them. What other cars are 5 x 115 to be on the lookout for? Ideally I'd find a 17x8 (or even 17x9).

Equinox, Terrain, Captiva are all platform mates with 17x7 as well.

5x115? Is that close enough for5x4.5"/114.5 to work?

I believe that the fiat/chrysler Lx bodies, Chargers, magnums, 300's, are 5x115. Stupid Germans.

Dodge guys do it often, but I'd rather stick to the proper pattern.

There is a very strong chance that Pontiac Grand Am hubs (5x114.3) are a bolt-in swap. But not something I really want to deal with on this car if I don't have to. Though it is only ~$120 to swap all 4...

Yeah, I noticed that, but they are very low offset (like +15), where the Vue is more like +40.

That's mostly a good thing assuming you don't go crazy on wheel width or tire width.

W body's are. I ran 17x8 mustang bullit wheels on it with no issues. You can see a pic of it in my profile or garage or whatever it's called.

My dad drove 100k miles with 98 Talon wheels on an Olds Intrigue. No issues. Even used talon lug nuts.

Look at Pontiac Bonneville and Grand Prix to find something aggressive looking.

How so? I'd like to keep the offset as close to stock as possible to keep scrub radius in check. This is the wife's car.

GM's "large pattern" FWD wheels are 5x115. (Small is 5x100) It would be difficult to say exactly which is what because some models had 5x115 on the heavy duty brakes and 5x100 on light duty.

This is different from high offset RWD wheels which are usually 5 on 4 3/4, as well as pre-metric FWDs (longitudinal Eldo/Toro)

5x115 and 5x114.3 are pretty much interchangeable.

That being said, the common 5x115 GM cars are: N-body: Grand Am, Skylark, Alero, Malibu, FWD Cutlass

W-Body/FWD G-Body: Cutlass Supreme, Grand Prix, Bonneville, Eighty Eight, Ninety Eight, LSS, Aurora, Intrigue, Regal, Century, LeSabre, Park Avenue, Lumina, Monte Carlo, FWD Impala, Riviera, Reatta

FWD Cadillacs: Deville, DTS, Seville, 80's+ Eldorado, Allante

All FWD Vans (Trans Sport, Lumina APV, Silhouette, Montana, Relay, Terraza).

Rendezvous/Aztek

AFAIK the only other 5x115 Saturn was the Relay minivan. The L-series and Astra were 5x110 and the SC/SL/SW were 4 lug and the Outlook was 6 lug

A lot of them are 5x120, though.

FYI - The Motegis on my Vue are technically 5x114.3. We measured no difference with a micrometer on those wheels to the stock ones.

Also, I sell a couple of hub bearing units that are listed as 5x114.3 or 5 x115 depending on the application, same part number.

Just saying...

Interesting. Did you have a hub centering ring to keep them straight while you tightened down the lugs?

I did happen to cross check rotors when I was looking at the Grand Am stuff and noticed that VUE rotors are listed as 5x4.5", but rounding will do that...

.7 mm makes no difference, we're talking .028 of an inch.

Nope, it just plops right on. The parts are sold as the same, it really is the same. You are talking 0.35MM of difference in measurement, which is a little bunk since it's the the outside edge to the middle. In fact, just changing the diameter of the lug holes on a 5-lug wheel technically changes the bolt pattern.

Here's the funny thing. On a lot of GM cars with Enkei wheels, the lug nuts meet the outside of the taper first. Put the lugnuts on just barely finger tight and they will be hitting on the outside of the taper on all five nuts.

I'm thinkin' Enkei made the wheels 5x4.5 and GM made the hubs 5x115.

IMHO these would look pretty good on a Vue, they're off a Grand Prix Comp G

I also always really liked these off the Bonneville SSEi, although I don't know how well they go with the lines of the Vue.

I think those were 04 only. Mine was an 05 but the wheels may have been optional. I know the car had the optional bigger rear spoiler and optional exhaust tips on it.

These were mine.

Here they are cleaned back up and I put them on my wife's 99 GT when I put the mustang wheels on mine.

The Mustang wheels filled out the wheels wells very nicely.

I don't think any of the W-body wheels are wider than 7" with the possible exception of the GXP wheels.
