2018 Escalade, right rear.  3/4 of the inside tread is at 5/32.  About 1/4 of the tire is headed to cord.  I can wrap my head around uniform wear but I can't figure this out.

Was that tire always there?  Is it still a stick axle?  If yes to both, either the axle housing is bent, or the tire is somehow faulty.  I'd call that toe wear, which shouldn't be possible on a solid axle.

If I understand correct it's only in the inside only about 1/4 of the way around the tire, and the other 3/4 are wearing normal (or close to it)?

If the description above is correct then I'd check the following:

- is the tire defective, causing it to have a high spot where it's worn thin?

- is the wheel bent, pinching the tire at that location making it a bit taller?

- check axle runout to see if there's something odd with the axle (or hub)?

That is correct.  3/4 of the circumference there is no inner wear.  For 1/4 of the circumference there is severe wear.  Tire has been there the whole time, 4219 date code.  I did rear brakes last summer and it was normal then.

Thick spot on a rotor?  Any pulsating in the brakes?   You would definitely feel if it was only grabbing on 1/4 of each rotation.

Sticky wheel bearing?

I've had this happen with broken belts in trailer tires before, usually car tires are better quality but stands to reason the same thing could happen.

That is a tire issue. The belts have shifted, which is quite common for older tires or the result of under inflation.

That looks like a broken belt or some other issue with the tire carcass.  What happens is something shifts internally so the tire is no longer round an then the high spot wears to make it round again.

I should have looked at a bigger screen.  100% tire separation.  For fun, put it on the front, and the steering wheel will probably wiggle at low speeds.
