No
It's pretty hard to fir a 33" wide motor between most framerails.
Gotta go radical. Sure I can't interest you in a SHOJusty??
I vote random tiny econo car (Civic/Tercel/Corolla/Accent/Justy) plus fwd subi transmission plus 914 rear subframe and suspension equals Franken Shogun that doesn't handle like pooh.
It's not a creative solution, but the legacy sedans (95-99 or so) are really growing on me. It could replace the e30 as a daily
How about in my 1990 Mitsu vanwagon? I am sort of local, and I wouldn't even charge you for doing all that work on my beloved van.
For a Challenge car it would be hard to beat a 911/912 project. Lots of rollers come up for sale where the person flaired them all out with fiberglass and then gave up or lost interest. An IRS VW K Ghia might also work. Both could use the Subie trans as well. I've even seen a Puma come up under 2K.

I don't have a more favorite daily than pre-y2k Legacys, wagons in particular. They're only a RSB(Rallitek), a few bushings(Kartboy), WRX seats(NewEnglandSubarus or NESIC), and better tires away from perfect. Yes, perfect. New Age straight brim "there were no Subarus before the USDM WRX and GCs are slow" snobby muttonhead douchery aside, the cable clutch cars are miles better to drive everyday than hydraulics; same engagement, every time, no matter the ambient or underhood temperature. Suck it, Monster Energy brohams.
Damn, I'm awful crotchety for 28. I miss my Legacy.
Did your lego feel tossable at all? The weight on paper is not attractive as compared to the imprezas.

I had an AWD '93 L wagon that felt a bit lighter than the second gen cars I've driven. It was dead stock, and I'm about certain all of the quarter million mile suspension was still from the factory, but it was as nimble as any stock normally aspirated Impreza I've driven(ie, pretty good). Drives a lot like a stock SF5 Forester, just less jiggly all around and a bit slower to get up to speed.
I talked a coworker into buying a '99 Legacy Brighton wagon(which took only one snowy hell ride in my Impreza), that I was then able to drive in abject anger several times. You know the spec: manual windows and locks, no ABS, cable clutch, 14s, no tach, etc. It was fun to drive in that "I'll never let you kill yourself" way, no oversteer unless there was ebrake or snow, no matter what. A fat Rallitek RSB, Impreza TS front seats(WRX would be a better fit), eBay factory Legacy L tach swap(10min bolt-in install), more tire pressure, and a muffler delete later, that thing was downright awesome. Could've used a little more brakes(I suspect the Brighton had smaller front brakes than the Ls, GC RS/SF Forester 2pot fronts would be perfect), and the extra wheelbase over Imprezas is somewhat evident. I'd imagine the second gen sedan is a bit better about hiding it's weight and length than the wagon, haven't driven one.
I like the early cars better out of the box. Better, glassy-smooth steering feel, rear discs as standard, more sprightly, better seats. Good luck finding one that hasn't rusted to dust, though.
^Now THAT's an idea. C900 hatch, weld center diff, run it rear drive off the front diff in a rear/mid setup.
I'd be a really crappy rich guy, I'd love to build all these abortions.

You'd be the BEST rich guy IMO, because you'd probably share your beer if people came over to help, and it'd be GOOD beer.
