Getting ready to do preventive maintance on the Rover. From everything I have read the 4.6 is prone to overheating, so I wanted to do that first. The idea that it uses Dex-cool bothers me as this coolant is known for eating gaskets and seals.. and I begin to wonder if this is one of the reason the Disco is known for bad headgaskets and the like.
So, does anybody have any experience with the redline Supercool with WaterWetter? It says antifreeze, but I hear people talking about not using it in winter.. so I am just curious. I have had good luck with redline oils and lubes.. but never used the coolant
Use coolant. Add wetter if u want. The overheating is more to do with the sleeves in the block, that, and when the temp gauge is pegged its at 260F.....

Also, I'd not recommend going away from deathcool if its in it.........it'd have to be flushed several times with distilled water to clean it all out.....and even then, there isn't a guarentee.
I was going to flush it several times.. then run pure tap water for a few miles and flush again. Don;t want that crap in my cooling if it eats gaskets and plastic
I just read about this stuff on another forum, I have never used it. Almost sounds like snake oil to me but what do I know?
