We have fairies. They will berkeley with you, hiding stuff, breaking stuff, not letting stuff go back together. You have to learn how to deal with them. They still have my Harley lifter oil screen plug removal tool. I had to buy another one.

I don't get mad at my projects. I get frustrated when nothing goes right. Some days just go like that. Everything you touch breaks or won't come apart. You spend 3 hours making something on the lathe and destroy it on the last pass. I stop, walk away from it, have a beer and call it a day.

Walk away for a day or two...

...and don't be afraid to ask for assistance... sometiems a new set of eyes can help a lot with a problem.

I'll be the dissenting vote here. Suck it up and work on the damned thing. "Walking away" for a day or two turns into a week or two, and so on. +1 on asking for help. What's scary black voodoo to you is cake to someone else.

Good luck with it. GET TO WORK!

Well... yeah... I'm trying to get help, and I've been working on it at least an hour a day for a month and don't know what to try any more. And after trying the same thing the third+ time and it not working again, I get these feeling that I should start on body work. Except its not taking the dents out that I feel like doing.

Anyway! Yeah, I can't really give up... because then I'll have school again and it will keep screwing up my grades. I'm pretty confident this thing is either going to work or explode in the next few weeks, because its not doing me any good sitting here :\
