I'll give you double what you paid for it.
Thanks for all of the encouragement!
I now own two 200k mile convertibles! A 1997 Miata and will soon take possession of a '91 325i convertible with over 200k.
I feel like this forum is the place for me.
My father in law gave me a 99 silverado that my wife wont let me sell. Worst free car of my life. Hopefully it works out better for you!
Timing belt, water pump, distributor, plugs (use the proper Bosch plugs, not fancy junk), wires, ensure the plastic on the radiator isn't brown (that means it's about to burst) if it is replace it and all the hoses.
Replace the ALL fluids (including flushing the brakes), check to make sure the brakes are in good working, and enjoy it. Even with a new radiator you're only in the car for ~$500 and your time. And you've addressed a big part of any deferred maintenance.
Well maybe an O2 sensor as well.
My father in law gave me a pickup truck before I married is daughter. I like to tell people it was a dowry. Oddly, my wife doesn't find that as amusing as I do.
My wife came with a free car, too (1971 Buick Skylark convertible). Still have the wife, but not the Buick. Miss it, but glad it's not the other way around.
I make no secret about that fact that I won the wife Lotto but it didn't include a free car...........this is like a line from a Talking Heads song "how I work this"
Next you're going to tell us she's cute, a fabulous cook and likes to go fishing......after the free E30 story I'm not sure anyone will believe you.
