I need to run a new brake line on my project and found a couple kits online four around $80, but I figured i'd ask here first to see if you guys tubing or brand.

Thanks!

Based on the recommendation of people from various fora (including this one, I think), I've used the "cunifer" line sold by http://fedhillusa.com. It seems to work fairly well, and is a lot easier to bend and flare than steel line, although it's probably more expensive. I've only used it for fairly short runs (adapter lines for new master cylinders, etc).

Ni-cop ( think it s the same as "cunifer") and make my own from pre-made lengths of tube; that way I get both fittings and only have to flare one end when I cut it down to size.

Premium stuff on Rock Auto. Cheap and it works.

WHOOPS I thought you meant soft lines not hard lines. My bad.

I just did the whole challenge car with nicopp. Bends and flares extremely easy.

Almost too easy. Im probably going to stick with steel.

Another nicop convert. Bends and flares like a dream. Did all the lines in our dually with it and they came out perfect and haven't had any issues.

Nicopp stuff is well worth the cost. Much more corrosion resistant than steel and it's insanely easy to bend. For larger radius bends it can just be done by hand most of the time.

would the S.U.R.& R. be the same stuff as the nicop? That's what I can get at my local parts store and runs about $50 for a 25' roll. I can't seem to find what the alloy is.

Looking at it online, it appears to be nicopp.

Yep, pretty much the same thing. I haven't been able to tell a difference.

You can get it online for less: Amazon

Just pressurized the brakes ont the Molvo last night. All new brake lines made from self flared NiCop. Had one small weeper that stopped with a tweak of the flare wrench. All the others were tight. I was impressed.

As an aside, for you bling guys who are trying to impress the concourse judges at the challenge, the NiCop lines really shine-up nice if you use a bit of metal polish like Autosol.
