I remember seeing one that was built by some one and thinking that it would be a really cool motor for about half a dozen weird projects I have bubbling around my brain. Did this ever go anywhere? I can not find any info on them.

Law of diminishing returns. Here's a .21 CID (3.41cc)engine that makes 1.77 hp--that's 8.42 hp/cid, or 519 hp/liter.
The Motous website seems up to date and the sound file of the motor sounds cool. The $9000 price tag for a motor alone, not so much.
The motor is 100 cubes, so 1.65L not 2.6L.

More importantly, who the berkeley cares how many HP/liter a motor has? Isn't the important thing the size, shape and weight of the engine?
I swear I saw a company that had grafted two LSX motors together making a v12 and then for the hell of it grafted the remaining "left over" ends to make a V4 LSX.

Teething issues but they are still around.
If you want an inline, the 2.2 is a really nice piece. Great cylinder head. The main problem with it is that GM also makes Ecotecs, and there's no business sense in doing anything with the bottom-rung engine.

Yup, it was discussed on this forum maybe six months back. All I can do is confirm.

Well, the fact that the 300hp 5.3 can become a 500hp 5.3 quite easily means the 150hp 2.6L can probably become a 250hp 2.6L quite easily.

if only the bean counters had given the Cadillac V16 the green light,..
yes, that was a running 1000horsepowers/1000 torques engine that was in a fully functional concept car and yes, it almost made it to production a decade ago...
oops... i'm sorry... this thread was supposed to be about LS based engines with 75% less pistons... sorry...

Depends on the car it's put in.

This has 170hp from a 2.7l. The car is 1800lbs though.
