Found this gem on CL today:

Ad only says "68 replica ferrari $1500 complete"

What the heck is it?

I'm guessing Kelmark.

Kelmarks were trying to be 246 GTs though. I'm stumped, and intrigued by the headlights

Citroen DS with horrible body kit?

Edit: Looks more like a SM

Both guesses are likely wrong based on the shape of the roof.

Yeah, I knew it wasn't a Kelmark. It's very close to me and if it's based on something cool I might go look at it out of shear curiosity, but if it's lame it's not worth dealing with Mr. Crack Price over.

No.

There was more than one style of Kelmark. Of course,it could also be a Fiberfab.

I really, really hope nobody ruined a Sonnett for that pig. The windshield corners on the mystery car are square and the Sonnett's are round though...

are those "pop down" panels that reveal the headlights when they're on, and then come up flush when they're off???

Yeah, the nose looks longer on the OP car.

I'm oddly fascinated by it. I think I'd like to see it all nicely turned-out.

As am I. It's intriguing enough that you ponder what it would look like cleaned up and un-kit-car'd. If the cassis is something good, like a 240Z, then it's worth taking a look at. If it's just another bug pan, I'll pass.

Looks like the Avenger has a one-piece front end and the first car appears to have a separate opening hood.

That is pretty cool. Anxious to hear more details. Please pass the info along if you decide not to go for it.

that thing actually seems mildly interesting to be honest. wonder what it's based on?

For 1500? Heck yes! (Says the guy who doesn't have that much to spend on anything... rabble rabble fiscal responsibility)

Interesting, indeed.

Reminds me of a Panhard.

It's awkward and ungainly, but not entirely in a bad way. Agreed that the chassis would make or break it.

See, when I first saw it, I thought some fool had chopped up a mid 60's Thunderbird, but the chassis looks way too short. Also interested to see what this turns out to be.

I believe the answer is Amante GT. I have one sitting in my shop.

From that angle it looks not half bad.

What's it based on?
