Can I just go with anything I can't afford it too expensive?  devil

According to the market it would be the list of worst selling vehicles since no one wants them at the price they're asking for.

Cadillac XTS. The Chevy Impala offers 85% of the same content and is the same size but is half the cost (or less).

All of them. There isn't a new car built I would be willing to buy.

what's the whole point of this thread?    99% of the repliers wouldn't buy new anyway.

For some reason if I had the symbolians I'd plonk down $28k+ large on a NISMO Juke RS as a ' buy it for life' purchase. Without hesitation. But then I don't have that kinda scratch. Cars are a very emotional thing. smiley

In reply to etifosi :

But, unlike a lot of cars in this thread (911 excluded), these hold their value exceptionally well.

Your 8 million mile rust ridden E36 M3heap isn't worth 5 grand.

It's worth about the same as my rust ridden E36 M3heap and you know it

Now I know you can option up a new Boxster into seven figures.....that seems a bit much.

Isn’t 7 figures a million dollars?

Depends on where you put the decimal point. I have garage full of seven figure cars and make about seven figures a year. ;)

Escalade. You can easily spend 100k on one. It's a tarted up 1/2 ton truck. A regular cab long box truck starts at $27.5k. The Suburban at $50k. Escalade at $73k.

I was just in Houston for work and we had an Escalade for a rental. It was either that, a Yukon or a minivan. The Escalade was closest. While I would never buy one, I have to say it was a damn nice vehicle.

But regardless, I'd say the recent discussion we've had about full size truck prices covered this subject.

There are a few cars I'd consider buying new. I just need to get over my current aversion to debt.

I make almost six figures a year.  We'll, five, but that's almost six!

Dang, I was really hoping the Murano convertible thing was still for sale. At the time, it was the second most expensive car ($45000 ish) in Nissan's lineup, behind the GT-R

In reply to etifosi : I bought a full size pickup even though I really hate how tall they are. Why so stupid tall?

Ground clearance is set between the ground and the lowest part of a truck. The center of the differential

Why do you need a step ladder to get into the bed of a pickup?  Or running boards so your wife/ girlfriend can get in without a boost?

They aren't as big as a semi truck,  why attempt to make them that tall?

In 2011 when I picked up my Colorado there was an Escalade there with a $93,000 sticker. It had a $5600 wheel package surprise

There was an article in todays paper about how people are demanding more luxury in their trucks.   So the price goes up.

Can you imagine a $90k pickup truck ?
