It made it this far in pristine condition. Seems like a shame to sully it after all these years of love.
I think I am going to post it for sale, if I don't sell it as the challenge approaches I will enter it as it sits in addition to the miata I was originally bringing.
That way I don't destroy one of the nicest q45's around and besides the miata has a better chance in the challenge anyway.

I have to many cars as it is. I daily drive my work car, free gas and all is hard to beat, that and I am immune from speeding in it.
In reply to pimpm3:
If it does not sell before the challenge, i may consider a fly-in and complete option.

While I appreciate the sentiment, I don't think the plan was to cut it up. I think the plan was to stuff sticky tires under it and whale on it for 2 days.

It's not transversely mounted, it just has an odd-looking intake manifold

Damn it, that car with a 6 speed manual. Scary fun
Here is a link to the pictures of the car....

The paint is original with the exception of the passenger side front fender. For some reason the right front corner light doesn't quite line up, its not to noticeable but I am picky. The interior is in great shape, the drivers seat has some cracking but no tears. The glove box hinge is broken and the glove box is held on by its latch. All of the power options work and the A/C is ice cold. It drives great and shifts smoothly. The tires all have good tread and are 225/50/16's. I believe the rears are yokohama S-Drives and the front's are Firestones. The forged BBS wheels are in incredible shape. You could hop in an drive it anywhere, in style and comfort.
Here is the kicker, I already built a Miata for the challenge and after thinking about it will bring that instead. So..... If someone on here is interested in a sweet Q45 that can be entered in the challenge I will sell it to a GRM'er for $2000.00 so it will be eligible. If no one is interested I am listing it locally for a higher price, which was my original plan when I bought it.
pimpm3, this car and this thread rule the internet today. A GRM'er offering to discount an in-demand car to a fellow GRM'er just so it can compete in the $2014 Challenge. This is so cool.

Man, I really want to make this deal work but I'm not sure I can find 2k in the next few months since the wife has made it clear that I don't need this. I guess she doesn't understand want then.
Very tempted...Buy it just before the challenge, run and cross off a bucket list item, then cruise home.

I'll call dibs here if that is possible.
I'll drop you a PM with my phone number and we can work through the details/logistics.
It looks like the fly and drive is going to happen, sale is currently pending. I can't wait to see this thing at the challenge, it's going to be badass...

Haha, that's my friend Justin's car. I think the motor from that is now in an s13, but he has another one he drifts and autox's with.
