When I left work, there's a house right by our front entrance that always has interesting cars in the garage.  I think he does upholstery work.  Today, he had one of these.

Allways nice having a car that can slip under the radar.

Way out of my budget too, man. But if I'm gonna spend pretend money, might as well spend it all?

I am definitely intrigued by the idea of this Subaru-powered Lomax. Do you have a newsletter I can subscribe to?

At the rate my projects go, gasoline may no longer be available when it hits the road. I'll tow it up a big hill with my EV and go Wheeeee! as I coast downlaugh

These seemed way more prevalent back in the day, but I love the ones that are VW all things.

VW-based MG T-series? Bring it.

VW-based Porsche 917? We can do that.

VW-based Cobra? Hold my beer.

I kinda like the Bugatti 35 style VW baased kits. They're out there and even fairly cheap, I always wanted to get one and run baja suspension and run it through the woods like a madman.

Forgot one that I really liked - the Ferrari GTO lookalike base on a Datsun 240/280Z. There are a lot of them and some look much better than others, but the best ones make you do a double take before concluding that they are the real deal. The McBurnie ones used on Miami Vice were excellent and I'd give their Corvette based Ferrari Daytona replica the nod as well.

I followed one of these for miles not knowing it was a fake. Only after posting it on here did I learn it wasn't real. I'm not a Ferrari guy per se but I was fooled.

My friend took a Cobra kit body and fitted it to an MGB  , more like a AC Ace...... it looked pretty good .....

There seems to be a lot of unloved VW based 1930s Mercedes ,

The Doyle VW kits that are coming out look pretty promising. Mid engine with a modern VW powerplant in a modern chassis design.

I just await JG to come out with a kit that swaps a GR Corolla drivetrain into the MR-S chassis, complete with bolt in rear subframe, custom suspension arms, shift linkage and remote reservoir double adjustable coilovers. And for them to have their own class at Gridlife time attack events.

The execution on this Camaro/VW combo is impressive. I would have to swap some Centerlines or SSTs on it.

I have always wanted a Sterling and I thought the weird Hummer-esc VW bug kit was interesting too.

I always liked the MG TC-TD Kit but not with a VW Bug engine, but a Pinto drive line.  VW power you can tell a mile away it's a kit.

I got to see the garage of another forum member who has a Beck Porsche 904 GTS replica. I immediately fell in love.

Damn but that Factory Five  Daytona roadster looks sweet!  If I only had the garage space.....

BTW, one of my cars (since sold) was originally a kit car, turned production vehicle.

They only made 60 0f the original TVR Grantura Mk 3 with 1622 MG engines and many were kit cars until they went for production rather than regular order.
