Following the Engine Swap topic, what would be your crazy body swap ideas.....
Scout 2 Traveller (118 WB) on a 2008 Ranger Reg Cab 4x4 Frame (118" WB)
AMC Javelin Body (109" WB) dropped over NASCAR tube frame (110" WB) with LS or Coyote power

Fiat 500 body onto my Formula 500; my son and I just discussed it last night. Done right it would only add about 100lbs to the car.
My reason is so that I could show up at HPDEs, Time trials etc that don't allow open wheel cars and stomp the hell out of folks...........it's petty and small but I don't care.

There's a guy who put Miata chassis underneath his Datsun pick up.
In reply to pres589 (djronnebaum) :
Doesn't sound very questionable.
Original '61 vette body onto a '00 F250 Powerstroke frame and drive train would be pretty questionable

I was thinking something similar, but with one of those cool fiberglass bodies from the 60s that are always laying around on FB Marketplace.
My other thought is swapping a VW Beetle body onto a Polaris RZR Turbo. Ultimate long travel suspension, 16" of ground clearance, AWD, plenty of power, and their wheelbases are within an inch and a half of each other. You'd have to modify the A pillar roll bars, but everything else feels like it would fit. Sorta.

Here you go. It's even street legal!

A gen 5 Camaro has a 112" wheelbase
A gen 3 Chevy Van has a 110" wheelbase
Only really have to figure out the controls, that's the questionable part.
Then we paint it up like one of Kreiger's vans(or pick a different Rush album)
Did I mention this is my idea for a Lemons racecar?

It's such a rad concept. Those SxSs are insanely capable
Not a true hat car or chassis swap but I cross pollinated a Ram50 minitruck with C4 Corvette suspension.
This is the before and after on the project I actually carried out. The car on the left is mine) a 56 and the one on the right is a 61/62 (I also own one of those, although that one isn't mine)
In reply to Mr_Asa :
Over time I've pieced together that ideas that seem obviously great to me do not actually compute with most folks. And sometimes they're correct.
Having tried this I will say wheelbase is probably the easiest variable to fix. Track width and cowl height will be a bigger issue on most old car/ newer chassis swaps.
