Electric hummer, I think. Are they for sale yet? Yes they are, for house money.

That's the new GMC Hummer EV.  9000lbs of complete excess.

Wow, a hundred grand for that??

Is that the one that can crabwalk into a parking space or something?

That's the one. Somehow the least efficient EV there is. It's kind of impressive, really.

Of course, the original H1 was over 8,000lbs and could barely get out of its own way. At least this thing can hustle. Also, wasn't the H1 more expensive?

Yeah, just checked and the H1 Alpha was $130k. Looked cooler but was a worse vehicle in pretty much every way. Except for ground clearance maybe.

Whoa, not much of a house.

And less than an F-250 Tremor.

As for the original H1, it was a barely civilianized humvee and is supposed to be far more capable offroad (at least until you get to narrow spots) than anything else you could buy in stock trim.

These things terrify me. I have a timer set for the first time some money-for-brains moron does an unintentional Holdo maneuver through a house or a school bus when they realize too late that 5 tons doesn't stop as quickly as it starts.

I recently drove a 7000# Rivian and I was impressed with how quickly it accelerated and stopped. The instant you lift off the throttle the regenerative braking starts , and then you lay on the huge brakes.

Like any other expensive ultra heavy truck. At least there aren't many of them on the road to worry about. Unlike the heavier, beat up, poor state of repair box trucks being driven by guys that just don't care... THOSE are all over...

But yeah, let's worry about an ultra limited edition EV that very few people will even see.

Whoa, not much of a house.

That monthly payment is almost double my mortgage.

Oh wow, I was going through to get a better price estimate and stumbled on

Ya, fully more than my house, without a 30 year pay off timeline.

I'm sick of having more brains than money, I wanna try no brains and lots of money for a while.

The box trucks probably do 0-60 in 20+ seconds and are likely driven by people with some type of commercial license.

The Hummer does 0-60 in 3.1 seconds and 1/4mile in 11.6 seconds by anybody with enough scratch to fork over the monthly payment. There's a whole lot more 'A' in F=MA here, and more 'A' means multiples more 'F'.

I live in a fairly small, rural town and there are two new Hummers around. They're not ultra rare.

That little diesel ain't pushing that box truck from 0-60 in under 4 seconds, is it?

And the box truck may be in poor shape and driven by someone who's tired or in a hurry, but it's also NOT being driven by someone eager to demonstrate just how much power their money bought them.

Seattle being as techie as it is, I've seen a bunch of them running around. They're absolutely massive. And have some ridiculous options. Like stereo controls in the tailgate. Wut.

I think these things are kinda stupid, but are they really any more stupid than a Challenger Hellcat Redeye Demon?  A lot of us seem to think those are pretty cool and they're no more suitable for motorsports.

GM's halo car to show off the new Ultium battery platform that has already been determined by outside engineers to be obsolete before it even came out, as well as difficult to manufacture. Oh yeah, and everything on the Ultium platform is having horrendous software issues.

No, but the Hummer EV is about as stupid as 2 Challengers welded together.
