I'd put the blame more of the feet of the driver than the AI given what he posted. It's not a lot different than seeing a lot of green on your lap timer and doing something you know is risky in order to hang on to it.

Ask yourself this...would he have tried to carry more speed in T23 on that final lap if the Garmin coach had not been talking in his ear suggesting it every other preceding lap?

As for "hanging on to the green", the best strategy there is to NOT do something risky for the rest of the lap.  You've already done something quicker early in the lap, so hanging on just means maintaining status quo for the duration.

Oh probably not, but like I said he had to have done it before and it didn't tell him that lap. What if he was reviewing trace data from an AIM and the data says he has a couple more mph in that corner. He goes out and tries to do it and bins the car? Is that the fault of the AIM or the driver? The driver is always responsible to drive within limits no matter what their data aides are telling them. Unless it was suggesting something he hadn't successfully accomplished before, I don't think blaming the AI is appropriate.

Please tell you how your AIM data "tells you" you have a couple more MPH in a corner?

My AIM doesn't "tell me" anything.  I can infer things...but that's *me* using my brain.  So if I infer the wrong thing, that's on me.

The Garmin quite literally "tells you"...and that's the point.
