Yeah, I was thinking he also said once fully built and driven well will need to be bumped up a base class.

Having spent over a year with one and pretty much covered the range of what a person wants to do with a car, I have to endorse the Frisbee Twins.

They had enough niggling issues at the beginning to earn my car the affectionate name of "The REMON" but overall, the car is a happy place to be when driving.

I've winter drove it and survived. Done 16 hours straight in the saddle and survived, Took the daughter and two friends to the prom and we all survived, treated it as a pick-up/parts chaser for the metal hobby and it survived. Took it out to the slalom and we both survived.

The car is not "Underpowered", it does not however, carry around a huge surplus of power above whats required for getting the job done. That can be dealt with if it matters to you.

The car is fun to drive in a manner that ordinary toasters are not. This could be a function of the rear wheel drive.

Elaborate. Depending on how "jack-of-all-trades" the car needs to be, I'd say older Forester XT

You could raise goldfish in the taillights. There is some sort of a fuel pump related chirp that the factory still can't get rid of on early cars. A few have dead motors due to a direct FI related issue. The window mechanisms are not up to winter with a weird default where they stay lowered about half a inch.

My issues were taillight and window related.
