#18, for no other reason than it could be changed to other numbers easily with black or white tape. 7, 4, 3, 5, 9
AutoWorld number kits FTW.
Other than that, I wish I was 18 again.

I chose 50 as a kid playing NASCAR 1,2,3, etc because aside from 1998 there was no #50 in Winston Cup, and I downloaed a Slick 50 car off some site to race as. It stuck with me all these years.
34,my dad raced stock cars on the local short track when I was born in the late 60's and he was #33.
167 for my '85 MR2, my house number, could be shortened to 16 (if the U-boat TT didn't take it), for the amount of valves, plus the house number I grew up in. 183 for my '00 Maxima SE 5spd, cause it was 3.0 l.
Cheers!

First, very cool seeing all of the GRM stickers in the wild. Thank you, everyone, for running them. (And if you need some, LMK--I know someone who can help.)
Back in my BMX racing days, you didn't get to choose your number. IIRC, your plate number was the last three digits of your membership number. At one point, I remember it also being the last two digits of your membership number plus the first letter of your last name which, to be honest, looks way cooler. I need to dig out one of those plates.
But if you ever catch me in my office during a Zoom call, you'll notice this behind me.
A long time ago at a race track far away (Lime Rock)...
No deep philosophical reason, easy to change 00, 08, 80, 88.
At one time there were several Escorts running ITB 1.9 ltr. an ITC 1.6 ltr. in the NER Region. I had a few old EXPs and LN7s in the back yard so I thru one together w/ few friends.
#1 for ice racing because registrar said, because I am senior club member
21 or 22 for auto cross because I didn't want to run first. They ran in numerical order.
22 because I had the magnetic numbers.
69 in the early days, not very lucky.
11 in Karts because black tape works good on white helmet
think I ran some 36/36 a few times, just liked the number
I am a retired journalist. At the end of a news story (in the old days when we used typewriters) you would write -30- which was the end. A famous type designer, Frederic Goudy designed his last typeface and named it Goudy 30. He had it released after his death. So I changed my car number to 30. I also bought a new Spec Racer Ford chassis when they were just about to reach #900. I asked to have 918 not because of Porsche, but because that is the height in inches of hot metal printing type, .918.

609. It's the cars first 3 digits on the plate I bought it with, and wasn't sure if my diy print on sheet numbers would work (they did for two events, and blew off on the 3rd). It's also symmetrical.

Dad ran 47.. It was easy for me to take 47, and when my brother Jeff started he took 77. He then ran a Historic 911 for a friend with the number 80. Went Ice Racing and 74 and 77 were unavailable, so we ran 80.
