What showed up for a Touristenfahrten (tourist ride) at the Nürburgring back in 1996? Plenty of European Rad-era goodies from VW, BMW, Porsche and more.
Which ‘80s or ‘90s car would you most want to rip around the Nordschleife with?

The body language of the guy on the motorcyle behind the offroad mini was priceless.
I think the first time I drove the Nordschliefe was 1997 or so. I remember a lot of locals in touring car style hatchbacks.
Oh boy, those tuned cars from my youth look awfully familiar. Same style that the wannabe "street racers" had when I was growing up. Half of them probably had a day's worth of wrenching to do every time the bi-annual TÜV came up to get the cars back to legal. I think the cops were a little more lenient back then.
Plus of course there had to be one rental car (the Mini from Sixt)
There's some other 'Ring videos on YouTube from 1970 that are pretty entertaining. Lots of VW Beetles rolling over.
EF Civic/BMW combo at 1:41 was pretty great. Nice find.
Small cars poorly driven are fun in any decade.
By the time I put my € down for a 5 lap pass in 2005 the cars and drivers were generally more sophisticated, but the Trabant with 2 guys and a dog helped to keep it real.
80's - 90's production are all too new!
Any model XK Jag, Lotus Europa, My Noble P4 (OK, that was an 80's car), The Ultima I built, the MGA Race car I once had, Bugeye, TR3...........
EDIT; After the posted clown-show I needed eye-bleach.
This works very well. Competence, its a thing!
