As you might have read, my wife totaled her 2001 Mustang GT.
It is well and truly totaled, but it was running after the accident. My wife had to put it in park and turn off the ignition to shut it down, so the engine shouldn't be hurt. Buy back is $440 for a sub 120K engine, transmission and rear axle and that price is delivered to my driveway.
So, what am I going to build with a GT drive train.
Holy smokes! I hope she is ok!
Another question. What would that cost the budget for a Challenge car. I assume it would be more than the $440 but how much.
In reply to itsarebuild:
She is. She had some spectacular bruises, but no serious injuries.
Wow- I'm so glad she wasn't hurt!

Throw that stuff into a Ranger!
Would it be a drivetrain upgrade for SanFord?
In reply to DILYSI Dave:
I know the transmission wouldn't take it, I have my doubts about the engine. I did consider that for about 10 minutes though.
In reply to Toyman01:
If the insurance company thought they could get more, they would charge you more.
I suspect your Challenge budget is $440.
Your not really getting a driving car you're getting parts with a "take the bad with the good discount."
Was no one in the passenger seat?
Glad to hear all are okay.
I remember you commenting on your young son recently driving with BMW 6 series. My first suspicion was he had something to do with this. Please extend him my apologies for considering that.

My 12yo came very close to riding with her that day. She was headed to a autocross. Thank the good Lord, at the last minute, he decided to ride with me to visit the grandparents.
If he had been with her, that would have been a very different and very bad day, rather than a moderately bad day. This is what the interior looks like.
Glad everybody is okay.
How about swapping all the leftovers into a used stock car chassis?
Hmmm, I wonder how a 4.6L will fit in this:

Just a crazy idea. Opposite of LS engines into Mustangs.

I just looked at a $500 Firebird on the List of Craig. I'm betting it would be too wide. I'll have to get some measurements.
Glad she's OK and not hurt more than bruises. You need an old school late 80s early 90s 2wd F150. Bonus if it's the classic red and white like this one. Swap the drivetrain, add two turbos with the exhaust coming out the hood. Have more fun than a man should be allowed.
Dang, that's quite a hit. Glad she's ok, as she's about the coolest wife on the planet.
Some suggestions for the $440 parts collection:
RX7.
E21/24/28/30/36.
vintage Mustang or Cougar.
Maverick!

1st or 2nd gen F-body should have enough room, no shock/strut towers in the way. Now a 3rd or 4th gen, not without a good bit of surgery.
Foxbody! They fit but just barely. That or go less common and find a mustang2 or pinto!
How about a Justy?
Since that's been done maybe a 70s Fiesta?
Want to sell it to us and join the spirit challenge team for 2017?
Or galaxy. 64ish. Stock car style.
I do have a high mileage 635CSI sitting here...
