Has 135xxx miles, replaced timing chain and fuel pump 2 years ago. All electronics work. What else should I ask? I have the VIN number, just can't justify 50$ for a carfax check haha.

If that is a tilt steering wheel it is likely toast and they are unobtanium AFAIK. Some jury rig a fix but that doesn't work well all the time. I eneded up installing a non-tilt column in my '90 XLT.
Otherwise looks like a good truck.
BTW, one of my fav trucks.
Loaded, Kenny is right. 7-8 MPG is common. Empty, I have been getting 12-13 with my F350.
The best thing about it is it's stupid simple. Mine sits for months and fires off first try every time. It was dirt cheap and will tow the world.
For the difference in price between that and a diesel, you can buy a pile of gas. $25 oil changes are nice too.
Edit: I wouldn't want to DD one, but for the occasional use tow rig/beater truck it's hard to beat.
Being able to boil the tires at will and merge in traffic is a plus too.
A good friend of mine had one like that, 4x4 extended cab. When I asked him why he sold it, he said, I spent $9000 on gas last year, and I didn't go anywhere.
I bought an 84 f250 diesel with a clean body before I moved to the rust belt. I think I paid 1600 or so a few years back.
I still get more compliments on the truck at gas stations than I do on any of my cars...
I daily drive the F150 version of that truck. I'm really starting hate the gas pumps but every junk yard contains several "rebuild kits" in the form of other 90's F Series and replacement stuff is CHEAP.
Get this instead. http://orlando.craigslist.org/cto/4244365145.html I get about 20mpg average with my 6.5L truck.
I have been daily driving my 9th gen F150 (Oops. Just saw this is an 8th. Similar enough...) and it can be a bitch at the gas pump. The tilt steering will go out if it hasn't been fixed, but I was able to find a bearing on ebay for $5 and the clock spring was smooshed because I twerked my wheel all the time.
Never had a fuel line problem, but I've replaced everything below the master cylinder for the front and when the rear needs fixing, I'll be replacing everything down to the drums.
The rear suspension will rust apart, but that's just a good reason to put beefier leaf springs in.
Take a look at the drive shaft and u-joints because a complete rebuild will cost you around $500. I blew the drive shaft off and every part, yolk to yolk, was in some way damaged.
That is everything I can think of. All above mentioned should be similar enough F150 to F250 that I think it should be helpful.
Make sure you have the towing package through the insurance company just in case.
Just a few things to keep in mind.

Does that look too cheap to be legit? Up here that's a $4k+ truck
If I were in the mood to buy another truck, it would be that generation of F150, but an I6. If I was in the mood to have more power than that, I would turbocharge that same I6. Folks have made surprising amounts of torque with that engine, unopened and stock. I would stay away from that big block in lieu of either of those engines just based on vintage and efficiency. That 460 is the same basic engine as the one in our Lemons car with different heads and EFI. I'm not impressed. It's also nearly a 50 year old design as compared to the I6.
Wow so much information haha - Thanks so much guys. Just ran a carfax on the one that I listed, turns out the guy lied about it's title. Nice! Back to searching again.
It's a totaled title. Not that it matters to me, it's just harder to insure and hasn't been deemed roadworthy yet. Not worth the hassle to me haha.

I think it might have something to do with the bit about changing the fuel pump and not having driven it afterwards...
